This is the ultimate combo tour for those who would like to enjoy game viewing and as well experience chimpanzee tracking. Walk through Kibale tropical rain forest with an expert guide; enjoy game viewing along Ishasha sector (tree climbing lion) and Kasenyi plain and Boat cruises along Kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Set off from Kampala and head to Queen Elizabeth National Park; located on the foothills of Mountain Rwenzori in Kasese using the Masaka-Mbarara road. Stop over at the equator for photographs and then processed to Queen Elizabeth; check in at Mweya Safari lodge/Simba Safari Lodge/Bush lodge. And then have evening game drive in the Mweya Peninsular. You will spot buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes and elephants or you can visit the Lake Katwe town with its attractive display of crater lakes. Check out salt mining or you may opt to relax. Return back to lodge for Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge /Simba Safari Lodge/Bush lodge.
Day 2: Game Viewing and Launch Cruise along the Kazinga Channel
Wake up early, take breakfast then start with a game view to Kasenyi plains. You are likely to see black and white colobus monkey, bush buck, Uganda Kob, topi, Defassa waterbuck, and Cape buffaloes. A collection of birds like Cassin’s grey flycatcher, broad billed roller, black bee-eater along the banks of Lake Edward. Return to lodge for lunch and afternoon boat trip; then in afternoon go for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel (2hrs) along Lake George-Lake Edward, come closer to see the school of hippos, crocodiles, buffalo and leopards though infrequent. Ornithologists should look out for over 650 resident species like flamingos, red chest, papyrus Gonolek, pink backed pelicans, malachite kingfishers, yellow crown, pink backed pelicans, water thick-knee, yellow billed stork, shoebill stock. Return to Mweya Safari Lodge /Simba Safari Lodge/Bush lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale forest National Park and visit Bigodi Swamp
After taking morning breakfast, depart from Queen Elizabeth to Kibale National Park. Kibale forest National Park has the highest concentration of primates in East Africa with 13 species and overall 60 mammal species and so far offers the best excellent chimpanzee tracking in Uganda. In the evening, you will visit Bigodi wetland sanctuary for a nature walk. Dinner and overnight at Crater safari lodge/Ndali Lodge/primates lodge
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kanyanchu
After morning breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to Park headquarters for briefing. Trekking chimpanzee in their natural environment may take you half a day, as you’re trekking chimpanzee you have an opportunity to see other primates such as the golden monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black Colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red Colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals involve forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species. Guided walk in the crater lakes which also a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species. There is also an array of butterfly species. Dinner and overnight at Crater safari lodge/Ndali Lodge/Primates lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala
Enjoy breakfast at leisure and transfer back to Kampala. Stopover in Fort Portal where you can take lunch and then embark on your drive to Kampala.
